ARTIST BIO

Caren Pearson is a practicing artist, who works primarily in acrylics, and explores other mediums of paint, including watercolor, oil pastel, sumi-e ink and digital painting.

Caren has always been an artist and has worked in several art fields. She has been an illustrator and designer in several major museums, owned a successful graphic design business and was an art educator for 22 years. She has also been a presenter at local, state and national conventions on the subjects of Art, Creativity, Literacy and Mindfulness.

Painting has always been her passion. It provides a way for her to explore her art-making process and express her ideas and feelings. When she paints, she trusts her intuition and releases her personal interpretations through contrast of value and interrelations of color. She doesn’t limit her approach to one style. She creates abstracts that pour directly from her emotions. She paints landscapes en plein air, especially during her world travels. Her still life paintings emanate from direct observation, filtered through her senses. Her paintings balance spontaneity with structure.

Caren sees painting as a type of meditation that provides serenity and opens positive energy to explore her inner artist. At the same time, it stimulates her imagination and ability to communicate. Painting opens doors to creativity and self-expression. She invite you to see her work through your own lens.
